
Mohammad Amir and Babar Azam will square off when the Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings play in game two of the PSL 2023 in Karachi.
Amir and Babar collaborated with Karachi Kings during PSL 2022. One of Babar’s ball-strikers, Amir, assisted him in taking wickets while serving as the team’s captain. Babar is currently the team’s captain and a player for Peshawar Zalmi after a year.
In light of the animosity between the two clubs, Mohammed Amir has downplayed his showdown with Babar Azam. The former Pakistani bowler claimed that it is encounters like this that keep matches interesting on the ARY news programme PSL Special.
Since my responsibility is to take wickets and aid my team in winning games, I would feel the same whether I was facing Babar or a tailender batting at number 10, said Amir.
Babar has downplayed his altercation with his former teammate as well. He asserted that he prefers to stick to his principles when playing against any bowler in the league.
“Competition is usually good for the league. Every team, excluding Karachi, has talented local bowlers. According to Babar, all international players play in it since it’s a top-notch league. When I play against any elite bowler, I stick to my fundamentals, said Babar.
Babar Azam is the PSL captain with the poorest record. He was the captain of the Karachi Kings, who had dropped nine straight games the year before. He is the best run scorer in the league with 2,413 runs scored in 68 games.
There will be 34 matches in the PSL in 2023. During the league stage, each club will face the other twice. After the league stage, the top four clubs proceed to the playoffs. The two worst teams will be eliminated. PSL 2023 matches will take place at Multan, Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi, respectively. On March 19, the title game will be at the Gadaafi stadium in Lahore.
