Pakistani spinner Haris Rauf has stated his goal to topple Virat Kohli and Babar Azam during the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2023), when he would play for Lahore Qalandars.
In a video from a practise that the Qalandars shared on social media, Rauf and Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar can be seen conversing. During the conversation, Rauf made it obvious that he will do everything it takes to get rid of the two best players.
The only exceptions at this time are Virat Kohli and you. Kane Williamson was spared from slide twice. But I’m thinking about these 3–4 guys. The Pakistani captain said, “Rauf has clearly dismissed him on a few times in the nets.
Oddly enough, Kohli and Haris Rauf squared off at the T20 World Cup in Australia last year. When it mattered most, the great batsman hit two successive sixes to tilt the match in India’s favour and beat the pacer in a game of one-upmanship.
The 15th match of PSL 2023 will feature Peshawar Zalmi vs. Lahore Qalandars at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where Haris Rauf will have the chance to oust Babar Azam.
Lahore is now in fourth position overall in the rankings after winning two of its past three games. On the other side, Peshawar is now in bottom place after four games with two victories and the same number of defeats.
Babar Azam has been striking the ball beautifully thus far, amassing 171 runs in just four games with a strike rate of 131.53. He has two half centuries under his belt and leads the club in runs scored this season. The performances of Haris Rauf haven’t exactly been noteworthy. Only two of his bouts hath he so far won.
