Avesh Khan: ‘I want to return to the Indian Test team’

Team India made a strong start in 2023. Both Sri Lanka and New Zealand dominated the internationals in both a similar series and subsequent one-day matches. Apart from this, Hardik Pandya captained the Indian T20 team in the absence of experienced Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. This led many to speculate that this would mark the beginning of a new era for India in the sport.

And apart from Kohli there were some other players too. Those who were missing from the team for one reason or the other. While fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was out due to injury. Requested Mohammed Siraj was relieved after his participation in India’s win against New Zealand in the one-dayers.

But a player whose entry was successful in the Indian team. But has been missing from the team for a long time. He is Avesh Khan. He dropped out of support of the team after missing crucial matches of the Asia Cup due to illness. Since then he is troubled in cut maker for T20. And his last ODI for the team was played against South Africa in October 2022.

Vaisey is now considering a return to the Indian team. Talking to The Indian Express, he admitted that it was digital due to illness. But now he is considering going for a Test match

Twice I was thrown out because I was not feeling well. People can guess. That cost me dearly on a few occasions but in today’s cricket six times out of ten the sea has a bad day. I’m not mixing but it’s true. Now I have forgotten everything. Instead I am living the present. When the selection will happen. It is in my hands to perform. That’s why I closed the postage stamp about it.

I have played for India with the white ball. But I want to represent the Indian Test team and I am working hard for that. I knew I needed to step up for MP because how often do we see a team come from behind to win in Ranji Trophy. If I’m good So I need to be there and take the responsibility of taking my team forward. It was a complete team effort.
