Bangladesh chooses an untested trio for the England T20.

Three uncapped cricketers, Towhid Hridoy, Rejaur Rahman Raja, and Tanvir Islam, will be included in Bangladesh Cricket Board’s 15-person squad for the opening two T20Is of the three-match series against England at home.

Together with the other three, Rony Talukdar, the opening batsman, returned to the national squad after an absence of eight years thanks to his impressive batting performances in the Bangladesh Premier League. Talukdar only ever participated in this brief format for Bangladesh in 2015, but he has subsequently forced his way back into the starting lineup. Shamim Hossain also returned to the group for the first time since 2021.

We chose them since they were all productive in the BPL. Rony and Shamim both performed incredibly well during the competition. The debutants fared well to earn their slots because of their performance in the quickest format.” BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin informed Cricbuzz on Wednesday.

Former members of the T20 team who travelled to Australia for the ICC T20 World Cup, Yasir Ali, Soumya Sarkar, Ebadot Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, and Shoriful Islam, have been dropped, but Minhajul stated that they still have options. We will meet with them to discuss our intentions in the future days because they are included in our 20–22 member pool, he continued.

The first of the three T20I games will take place on March 9 in Chattogram. The second and third games are scheduled for Dhaka on March 12 and 14, respectively. This will be the site of the first bilateral international T20 series between the two teams.

Afif Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Nasum Ahmed, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Shamim Hossain, Rony Talukdar, Towhid Hridoy, Rejaur Rahman Raja, and Tanvir Islam make up the Bangladeshi team, which is captained by Takib Al Hasan.
