Dinesh Karthik: The win put a veil over India’s problems

Dinesh Karthik, an Indian cricketer and commentator, shared his thoughts on the significant issues that still plague the present team as it prepares to face Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2023.

India’s home Test winning streak came to an end as they were defeated by the Kangaroos by nine wickets in the third Test at Indore’s Holkar Stadium. This happened after India won the first two Tests with ease and kept the prized Trophy.

We cannot deny that the top 7 Indian scorers did not receive the results they desired. We’re referring to repeated collapses. Is this field challenging for batting? Without a doubt. Yet, as a team, they have decided to play on these fields, thus they must support themselves there. They”Playing international cricket is a different ball game, but a lot of the players have certainly played on harder fields and succeeded in isolation, so they are capable of it,” the 37-year-old stated while speaking on Cricbuzz.

Victories concealed India’s problems: Dinesh Karatik
In his opinion, it was pointless for India to support the players who were struggling to perform under such demanding circumstances. He emphasised that these issues are not new; it is apparent that they have existed since the Bangladesh series, but India decided to ignore them since they were winning the games.

After a few attempts at leaving, there are so many doubts that one experiences a loss of confidence. After that, you can still support yourself by going outside and playing thoseBig shots to escape pressure can be incredibly challenging. I absolutely understand how difficult it must be for the Indian batsmen; but, that is what Test cricket entails, he remarked.

Karthik asserted that after losing the third Test, everything had now come to light and that it was past time for the Indian thought tank to implement some quality improvements.

They would concede that India’s victories in each of those games and the lower order contributions have concealed a significant portion of it. If you go back in time to the Bangladesh series, they also had trouble against spinners, but it was concealed by India’s victory in those games and the contributions of the lower order, he said.

Yet when you lose a game, it is difficult. It is blatantly visible, right in front of you, and people will talk about it, and they have every right to. The issue will be raised because it has repeatedly occurred over time and Team India has continually supported these individuals despite the fact that they have failed to deliver the necessary results,” Karthik said.
