Hilarious sayings of South African players go viral

In a few days, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will begin, pitting ten nations against one another for the prized trophy. Once again, South Africa will be one of the tournament’s “dark horses” and will be a formidable opponent for all other teams. Prior to their second preseason match against New Zealand on Monday, October 2, the Proteas have landed in Thiruvananthapuram.

Prior to the game, the entire South African team made several funny attempts to pronounce the Indian State of Thiruvananthapuram. Several South African celebrities, including David Miller, Rassie van der Dussen, Kagiso Rabada, and Heinrich Klaasen, tried to say the word perfectly in one go, but their tedious attempts left Splits all around.

South Africa has not yet won its first World Cup championship.

Notably, despite repeated chances to do so, the Rainbow nation has yet to hoist its first World Cup championship. Due to an odd rain regulation, they were eliminated in the semi-finals in 1992 and the quarter-finals in 1996. Additionally, they lost to the same team in the 2007 championship game after playing a sad tie with Australia in the semi-final in 1999.

In the 2015 version, the Kiwis eliminated them after an exciting semi-final, while the quarterfinal departure in the 2011 edition came after a loss to New Zealand. Having thus far been unable to obtain the coveted prize, the Proteas will be eager to win the forthcoming competition in order to end their trophy drought.
