Faf du Plessis’s theatrics during the Mumbai Indians vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore game have reignited the fans’ theories once more. A video of MI’s skipper Hardik Pandya tossing the coin atop his head and it falling behind everyone in attendance went popular on social media last week.
With his demeanour during Monday’s toss, Faf du Plessis rekindled the topic about toss shenanigans. Javagal Srinath, the match referee, had to go back and get the coin. Despite the lack of conclusive evidence, a number of supporters accused the match referee on social media of manipulating the coin toss.
Du Plessis, meanwhile, started a fresh discussion on the subject during CSK vs. SRH at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Monday in the stadium. Du Plessis and SRH skipper Kane Williamson were seen chatting just moments before the toss, most likely talking about what transpired during the toss in Mumbai. Williamson was a little taken aback by what Du Plessis said.
In the middle of all of this, on Monday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Du Plessis chose to bowl first after winning the toss against the SRH.
CSK is at the bottom of the points standings with just one win in seven games, while SRH is in fifth place with three victories and two losses.
“We have a goal in mind. The entire season has been the same. It’s been a little erratic. Our cricket has not been at its best. We haven’t performed to our best ability most of the time, it seems like,” the CSK skipper remarked. “We’ve made adjustments to try to make a difference. Ferguson is in, Maxwell is out.”
Kane Williamson, the captain of Hyderabad, stated that the team has not changed.
We won some amazing games the way we gone. In Twenty20 cricket, you can’t win every match. Every game is approached the same way as the last. Here at Chinnaswamy, you never know—sometimes it’s as high as 240,” Williamson remarked.
