Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set to take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the fourth match of the ongoing 17th Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) edition. This match will be held on Sunday, March 24 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
Sanju Samson-led RR failed to make the playoffs in the last edition. Because they finished fifth after Mumbai Indians on the points chart. RR is yet to bid for a second title after winning the title in the inaugural edition. They reached the final for the second time in 2022 but lost the final against Gujarat Titans by seven wickets.

In particular, both sides had to face major setbacks before the start of the tournament. Because they were trying to fill some spots before their opening game. RR will not get the services of Prasidh Krishna due to injury. Meanwhile for LSG, captain KL Rahul has been instructed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to bat only as a specialist batsman.
Devdutt Padikkal, who was traded from RR, is likely to feature for LSG in the upcoming game. The Kerala born batsman is a possible contender to open the innings. Because KL Rahul chose to bat taking inspiration from his performance during the ODI World Cup in 2023. Meanwhile, West Indies star Rovman Powell is expected to be selected as the finisher. Shimron Hetmyer for RR, adding middle-order strength along with Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel. Apart from this, fast bowler Avesh Khan, who was traded from LSG, is also likely to debut for the Rajasthan franchise.
