Indian Premium League (IPL) 2024 edition will be played between Chennai and Bangalore on Friday, March 22 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Chennai will enter this match as champion. Chennai had defeated Gujarat by five wickets in the final of last season. Bangalore finished sixth last season with seven wins. They failed to make it to the playoffs after facing defeat in the last league match against Gujarat.
Chennai released eight players from their last season’s squad. They bought Rachin Ravindra for Rs 1.8 crore and Daryl Mitchell for Rs 14 crore. Chennai spent Rs 4 crore for Shardul Thakur and Rs 2 crore for Mustafizur Rahman. Spent Rs 8.4 crore for Sameer Rizvi.
Bangalore released almost the entire bowling unit. Bangalore has traded Shahbaz Ahmed to Hyderabad for Mayank Dagar. Bangalore strengthened their fast bowling by bringing in Alzarri Joseph, Yash Dayal, Tom Curran and Lockie Ferguson.
Chennai and Bangalore have played 31 matches against each other so far. In which Chennai dominated Bengaluru with 21 wins. Whereas Bengaluru has been victorious in 10 matches.
