According to reports, renowned Indian seamer Jasprit Bumrah will travel to New Zealand for back surgery. The National Cricket Academy (NCA) administrators and the medical staff of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have chosen Kiwi surgeon Rowan Schouten, who previously treated Jofra Archer, and plans are underway to fly the pacer to Auckland soon.
Bumrah will likely need 20 to 24 weeks to fully recuperate, which will keep him out of action until September and prevent him from playing in the IPL or the World Test Championship final in June, should India make it there. The 29-year-old last participated in a competitive international game against Australia in September 2022.
