KL Rahul loses wicket after careless fall in 2nd Test, gets chance reaction on Twitter

Vice-captain of Team India KL Rahul continued to struggle in the longest format; as a result, he was cheaply removed in Delhi’s second Test match against Australia after failing to play himself in. Rahul was anticipated to play a protracted innings in the current match against Australia, but he was unable to do so because on Day 2 morning, veteran off-spinner Nathan Lyon trapped him LBW after the opening batsman had survived a few reviews. Rahul is under more and more pressure to deliver in Test games.

KL Prior to the Delhi Test, Rahul had only amassed 180 runs in 10 innings, and since his century against South Africa on Boxing Day at Centurion in 2021, his average had fallen below 18. He failed the Delhi exam.

He only scored 17 runs during the Test at Delhi. Rahul’s continued inability to defend adequately against spin has increased the necessity for Shubman Gill to be a part of the Test lineup.

Gill, who recently notched five hundreds across all formats, has been demoted to warming the bench while Rahul, who was named as the designated vice-captain of the Test team, has been given more playing time.
