The Indian Cricket Team outperformed the mighty Aussies in each of the three game-related categories. The management must choose between starting Shubman Gill or KL Rahul for the third Test match in Indore. The issue with KL Rahul is that his natural attacking approach has been damaged since he always appears divided between attacking and protecting.
Under Steven Smith’s leadership, the Australians would be seeking for work (*3rd Test Match). Smith batting at No. 3 won’t come as a surprise given the batter in the 2017 BGT got three hundreds in four games. Supporters of the Australian cricket team would like to see their side physically harm the opposition before playing aggressively.
Harbhajan Singh was heard discussing and providing informative commentary on KL Rahul and Shubman Gill on his YouTube channel.
According to my prediction, Shubman Gill would take KL Rahul’s spot in the third Test match due to Gill’s success in ODI and T20 matches. I believed that he merited a chance after seeing his form over the previous few months.
Although though it’s never simple for a hitter to score on such pitches (Nagpur & Delhi), especially for KL Rahul who hasn’t been in great form, it would have been wonderful for KL Rahul as well if Shubman Gill had played. Harbhajan Singh believes it will be best for him to take a break so he can return stronger.
After being tough over the previous 12 months, the Australian Cricket Team was held to a high standard. The management’s choice to forgo the tour/practice game might not have been the best one. The batsmen’ attempts to counter Ashwin and Jadeja’s spin onslaught with sweep and reverse sweep strokes were a complete failure.
It will be intriguing to watch whether Travis Head takes Matt Renshaw’s spot as the batting opener. It is important to note that Renshaw performed admirably at the 2017 BGT. The Indore pitch should be favourable for batting, and the Australian team ought to put up some resistance.
