
The auction for the inaugural Women’s Premier League is reported to be held in the second week of February at the Jio World Center Mumbai. Ahead of the marquee event, around 1000 cricketers from across the world have registered their names to be a part of the tournament. However, only 100 – 120 cricketers will get a team as only five teams will participate in the first season.

Meanwhile a host of cricketers have already posted their registrations with players such as Alexandra Hartley and Alyssa Healy. Over 1000 cricketers have registered signatures for the WPL auction. Very healthy participation has been expressed from both Indian and International players.
Even though the auction is going to happen in about a week. Still there is no confirmation about the exact date of the incident. However according to a team official of a new WPL team it is likely to take place anywhere between February 11 to 13.
BCCI has invited bids for the title sponsor and has invited bids.

With the tournament expected to begin in a little over a month, the BCCI has invited bids for the title sponsorship for the first five editions of the tournament.
