In the opening game of the current Border Gavaskar Series between Australia and India, both sides had outstanding performances. However, everyone has been impressed with the renowned Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who is making his comeback to international cricket after suffering a knee injury in the Asia Cup 2022.
Ravindra Jadeja had exceptional ball control throughout the game’s opening innings. On his dramatic comeback, he picked up a five-wicket haul, taking out players like Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith, among others. As the batsman accumulated 70 runs off 185 deliveries to give India a commanding lead in the current Test match, the great all-rounder seemed to be in top form.
At the post-day review, commentator and former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra lauded Ravindra Jadeja’s performance, referring to him as the world’s best all-rounder at the moment. He is now the best all-around player in the world, in my view. His hitting has really improved. The development was only a result of having confidence in oneself.
He always had the upper hand. Having scored two or three hundreds in first-class cricket, he is aware of how to score runs and construct an innings. I think he’s uncomfortable about abandoning the ball. On occasion, he gives the feeling that he should be batting much higher in the order given his skill. Jadeja has been a fantastic batter.
Todd Murphy dismissed Jadeja during the opening session of the third day, and he will be included in Australia’s second innings as the Indian team aims to wrap off their batting as soon as possible.
