The visitors declared their innings earlier at 435/8 after long innings by Joe Root and Harry Brook. With Harry Brook (184*) and Joe Root (101*) at the crease, England had resumed their innings on Day 2 at 315/3. In the second Test against New Zealand, England was well in charge because to Harry Brook’s scorching 184 not out on Friday in Wellington.
