Shahid Afridi: ICC’s role becomes important in hosting Asia Cup

There have been numerous disputes surrounding the Men’s Asia Cup’s hosting decision. The event was initially supposed to be hosted in Pakistan, but because the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided against going to Pakistan, there have been a number of reports that the tournament may take place somewhere else.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) authorities have been vociferous about the subject, even suggesting that they might not visit India for the forthcoming ODI World Cup if India does not come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup.

The seasoned Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently posted his opinions on the subject on his YouTube account. Pakistan host the Asia Cup. However, India has declaredWe won’t be taking part if it takes place in Pakistan. Change the location if you want us to participate, Ashwin remarked.

But we would have witnessed this happening frequently. They will respond by stating that they will not visit us if we refuse to travel to their location. Pakistan has also declared that they will not attend the World Cup. However, I don’t believe it is possible, he added.

Shahid Afridi discusses the controversy around the Asia Cup hosting.
Shahid Afridi, a former Pakistan cricketer, too spoke out about the situation. The 45-year-old placed the blame on the system for the PCB’s predicament. Additionally, he suggested that the International Cricket Council get involved. In the current situation, he even stated that the ICC would be helpless in the face of the BCCI.

Making such firm decisions is not an easy choice if someone is unable to stand on his own two feet. India has made itself that strong, therefore if they are showing you their eyes or adopting such a strong stand, they have earned the right to speak as they had otherwise lacked the bravery. Making yourself strong ultimately leads to making decisions “Afridi stated on Samaa TV.
