South Africa doing well on track as New Zealand and Devine clash

Even before South Africa arrived at Boland Park on Monday to play New Zealand in the women’s T20 World Cup, their day was challenging. They would have been eliminated from contention for the semi-finals if they had lost. Only four of the dozen players from the WPL who entered their names were purchased at the auction.

But I don’t know the solution, and that’s what our team will have to work together to figure out.We’re in this for the long haul, and that’s what I love about this group, so we have to work through it as a group and figure it out together. It’s frustrating, embarrassing, and sad that we haven’t performed to our full ability.

But I’d give anything to play for this group, and me becoming angry won’t change anything for the girls who are currently in that shed upstairs. I should probably manoeuvre around them and put my arm around them. It’s going to be a rather chaotic 24 hours, but we need to look for the good.
