Tamim Iqbal at loggerheads with compatriot Shakib Al Hasan

When he showed up for the press conference prior to the first One-Day International (ODI) against visitors England scheduled to be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on March 1, Bangladesh’s ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal partially rejected all rumours of a disagreement with Shakib Al Hasan.

In a recent conversation with Cricbuzz, the head of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Nazmul Hassan, alluded to a disagreement between Tamim Iqbal and Shakib. Tamim stated during the press conference that he was prepared for such inquiries and would not hesitate to address them.

Since yesterday, I had been ready. Never before had there been so many journalists in one place. I anticipated these inquiries. For me to say that, it would have been extremely simple.”No remarks, let’s move on,” yet I believe it was crucial to convey my message to the press and supporters. This is why I was pleased to respond “as reported by Cricbuzz, Tamim.

Although Tamim made it clear that he and Shakib have no problems, he refrained from commenting on what Nazmul Hassan had earlier said regarding their friendship.

Nothing else counts as long as Shakib and I are wearing the Bangladesh jersey, giving it our all, and supporting one another as we coach the teams. I can promise you that, regardless of what anyone says or whether we have coffee together, as an ODI, I always have his assistance.I am his go-to person for advice in the Test team, captain, and I am always available. It is completely normal for us to celebrate his wicket when he gets out or when we bat together, said Tamim.

Everyone in our squad is my friend; I have dinner with Taskin (Ahmed), Taijul (Islam), Muhammad Mithun, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Mushfiq (Mushfiqur Rahim). It’s a professional world, though, so your relationships with everyone won’t be the same.

Hassan’s assertion that the atmosphere in the team dressing room is unwholesome was dismissed by Tamim, who conceded that such conversations shouldn’t have been made public.

The atmosphere on our team has been positive for a while,He emphasised. “The kind of outcomes you’re seeing are possible with a joyful dressing room. For the past five or six years, especially in the most recent five or six series, we have performed well in ODIs. As it was over the previous 12 months, I believe everything is absolutely normal.
