The deadline for WPL Auction 2023 has passed. The WPL Auction 2023 is set to take place today, February 13, 2023. (Monday). The Jio Convention Center in Mumbai will host the event.
There will be 409 female athletes available for bid in the Women’s Premier League Auction in 2023. (WPL auction 2023). Earlier, 1525 people registered for the auction. Out all those players, only 409 were chosen in the end.
Out of a total of 409 players, there are 246 Indian players and 163 international players. There are eight players from associate nations. There are 207 uncapped players and 202 players that have attained their cap in the WPL auction 2023.
Five clubs will participate in the 2023 WPL Auction. They are the UP Warriorz, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. These clubs can only have 18 players on their rosters. There are just 90 seats available for the 5 teams. 30 slots are open for players from other countries.
Players may expect to pay up to Rs. 50 lakh. 24 players, including Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, and Shafali Verma, have kept their spots in this group. Foreign athletes like Deandra Dottin, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Ecclestone, and Sophie Devine have managed to keep them in the 50 lakh bracket. There are 30 female athletes, with a 40 lakh rupee starting bid.
February 13th, 2023, is set aside for the WPL Auction 2023. (Monday). The Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai will host the auction. The auction starts at 2:30 PM IST.
