UAE T20: Mohammad Nabi out of Afghanistan team

Rashid Khan, Afghanistan’s captain, will be bringing a fresh team into the three-match T20I series against the UAE. The 18-man squad from the team that competed in the T20 World Cup in 2022 has undergone up to seven alterations. The departure of Mohammad Nabi, who stepped down as captain following the World Cup, is one of the most noticeable alterations to the lineup.

The team facing the UAE includes Zahir Khan, Rahmat Shah, Afsar Zazai, Noor Ahmed, Nijat Masood, and Karim Janat. A reserve player from the World Cup, Sharafuddin Ashraf, has also been called up to the team. Qais Ahmad, Darwish Rasooli, Mohammad Saleem, and Usman Ghani are furthermorethe participants who have been benched before the series.

On February 16, Afghanistan will compete against the UAE. The series will be part of a five-year deal between the two nations and every game will be played in Abu Dhabi. Afghanistan may benefit from the roster adjustments because they intend to dominate the UAE early on in the series.

Afghanistan recently played Sri Lanka in an ODI series that ended in a tie.
Afghanistan played Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series in November 2022 before the series against the UAE. They got the series off to a terrific start by winning the first game by a score of 60 runs. The following gamethe third game of the series was won by Sri Lanka, ending the series in a tie.

As they soon face the UAE, Afghanistan will be hoping that things go their way this time. The squad will be aiming to establish dominance early on and win the series after their previous series ended in a stalemate. Rashid Khan, the team’s captain, will rely on the newcomers and hope that Nabi’s absence is not felt.
