Five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will begin their Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 24. There is a lot going on in the background for Mumbai as they made changes by bringing back Hardik Pandya into their squad through player trade with Gujarat Titans and replacing Rohit Sharma.
The move did not go down well with the fans as the five-time IPL-winning captain deserved better treatment from his franchise. However the on-field shows. That everything is fine inside the MI camp. Because Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma were seen hugging each other during the practice session.
Keeping aside off-field controversies, MI is once again entering the competition with a strong squad.

On the other hand, Gujarat has also made a change in the captaincy. And young batsman Shubman Gill has been made the captain in place of Hardik Pandya. The franchise has had a memorable start to the league and has reached the finals in both the editions played so far.
However, they will not be getting the services of Mohammed Shami who was the purple cap holder last season. During the mini-auction they bought players like Umesh Yadav, Shahrukh Khan, Sushant Mishra and Robin Minz to prepare their squad for the upcoming season. The biggest positive thing for Gujarat is the availability of all-rounder Rashid Khan.
The upcoming match promises to be an exciting encounter for the fans with two of the strongest teams of the tournament taking on each other.
