Gujarat (GUJ) will face Mumbai (MUM) in the fifth match of the Indian Premium League 2024(IPL) on Sunday, March 24 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Gujarat finished first last season with 10 wins in 14 matches. Mumbai won eight out of 14 matches and stood fourth. Last season, both the teams faced each other in the second qualifier.
Gujarat released eight players for this season. He completely sold Hardik Pandya to Mumbai. Shubman Gill was appointed captain of the team for this season.

Gujarat bought a total of eight players. Umesh Yadav, Shahrukh Khan, Sushant Mishra, Kartik Tyagi, Manav Suthar and Robin Minz are the players bought by Gujarat. Minaj was ruled out of the tournament due to a bike accident. And BR Sharath has been taken in his place. Sandeep Warrier has also been signed as Mohammed Shami.
Hardik Pandya has been made the captain of Mumbai in place of Rohit Sharma. Mumbai released 11 players before going to the auction. They traded Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore. Mumbai selected a total of eight players in the auction. He worked with Gerald Coetzee, Dilshan Madushanka, Nuwan Thushara. Madushanka has been ruled out of the tournament with a hamstring injury and has been replaced by Kwena Mafaka.
