KL Rahul: Assessed Hyderabad’s innings

KL Rahul talked about his innings at the end of the second day of the first Test against England in Hyderabad on Friday.

Said after missing the wicket, I could have been out on zero. I will score 86 runs. Maybe tomorrow I will come and realize that I missed a century. But today I enjoyed getting out in the middle. We saw England playing yesterday and I thought this is not such a wicket. Where you wait for the loose balls. Some opportunities will have to be created. And the bowlers will have to try to keep them away from their line length. I was looking for opportunities to score runs. I had some shots in mind. If the bowlers bowl there. So I was ready to take the chance.

I wanted to see their game plan. Where can I score runs? I spoke to Rohit in the morning and he told me. That wicket is a bit slow. And you can’t go there and start playing your shots. So I just gave myself time. And when I took some shots. So I was thinking. How can I score runs?
